From mid-July until October, the local orchards are overflowing with this bounty, and many of them offer visitors a chance to go out into the orchards and pick bags and bushels of their own fruit. Strawberries and raspberries come to their ripeness earlier and are available from mid-May onward. The farms that offer pick-your-own fruit have more going on, too. Hayrides and farm stands that offer homemade jams, jellies, pickles, fudge, and candies are common, and kids can enjoy pony rides and playgrounds as well. Whatever the season, your visit to Northfield?s orchards and farms provides excitement for the whole family. Come for the fruit and stay for the fun!
